Central lanes on Circuito Interior to close for works at Oceanía station

Mexico City authorities announced the temporary closure of the central lanes on Circuito Interior toward La Raza due to maintenance works at the Oceanía Metro station. The disruption will take place from Saturday night, November 22, until early Sunday, November 23. Alternative routes will be available to reduce traffic impact.

The Collective Transport System Metro will perform structural maneuvers at the Oceanía station, necessitating the closure of the central lanes on Circuito Interior. An official statement indicates that “the repositioning of a beam in the elevated viaduct connecting Oceanía station on Line B with the same station on Line 5” will be carried out.

The works are scheduled to begin at 23:00 hours on Saturday, November 22, and continue until 6:00 hours on Sunday, November 23. The affected area is at the intersection of Circuito Interior and Avenida Oceanía, near Terminal 1 of the Mexico City International Airport (AICM), impacting travel toward La Raza.

Personnel from the Subsecretary of Traffic Control of the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC) will set up signage to direct drivers. Commuters are advised to take precautions and plan for longer travel times.

Alternative routes include diverting onto Avenida 608 to rejoin the vial distributor at the height of Metro Deportivo Oceanía, then returning to the lateral lanes of Circuito Interior. Additional options are Eje 3 Norte, Avenida 602, Anillo Periférico, Calzada Ignacio Zaragoza, and Eje 3 Oriente.

The Metro and SSC urge drivers to proceed cautiously and heed official instructions to avoid accidents. If the works finish early, normal traffic flow could resume before 6:00 hours.
