Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay inaugurated the MLA office in his Perambur constituency on July 13, 2026. He also distributed smart ration cards and launched an e-service centre during the visit.
Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay, president of TVK, visited Perambur for the first time in an official capacity two months after the 2026 Assembly election results. He inaugurated the renovated MLA office at Sharma Nagar and paid respects to the party’s ideological leaders. Several ministers including Aadhav Arjuna and K.A. Sengottaiyan were present.
Vijay issued certificates, inaugurated the e-Sevai centre and launched a website and mobile app for residents to report grievances. He later distributed smart family cards at a nearby ration shop and inspected the Metropolitan Transport Corporation’s electric bus depot at Vyasarpadi.
The state government plans to implement 50 civic infrastructure projects worth ₹1,013 crore in Perambur over the next two years. Vijay also approved seven projects under the MLA Local Area Development Scheme, including a sports facility and a dialysis centre. Chennai Corporation Commissioner G.S. Sameeran said the Chief Minister had sanctioned ₹3 crore immediately for these projects.
