The Kenya Meteorological Service Authority has confirmed that cold weather across parts of Kenya will last until at least June 22. Nairobi residents can expect morning lows of 13 degrees Celsius while Nyahururu faces the lowest temperatures of 4 degrees Celsius.
The Kenya Meteorological Service Authority stated on June 15 that the current cold conditions will continue for the next seven days. Nighttime temperatures are forecast to reach 4 degrees Celsius in Nyahururu, 8 degrees Celsius in Narok and Laikipia, and between 9 and 11 degrees Celsius in Nakuru, Eldoret and Kericho.
Nairobi is expected to see chilly mornings and evenings with lows around 13 degrees Celsius. Most areas will still experience sunny intervals during the day despite the cold.
North-eastern regions including Mandera will see highs up to 38 degrees Celsius while coastal towns like Mombasa record 30 to 31 degrees Celsius. The authority has advised residents in highland and Rift Valley areas to keep warm clothing ready.
