Connor Storrie, star of the HBO Max series Heated Rivalry, previews his Saturday Night Live hosting debut with a series of accents in a new promotional video. Cast members engage him in an accent challenge, highlighting his versatility beyond his Russian role. The episode is scheduled to air on February 28.
Connor Storrie, known for portraying hockey player Ilya with a Russian accent in the HBO Max drama Heated Rivalry, is preparing for his first time hosting Saturday Night Live. In a promotional video released ahead of the episode, Storrie interacts with cast members Marcello Hernández and Ashley Padilla, who praise his accent work from the series.
Storrie responds, "I actually do all kinds of accents," prompting cast member James Austin Johnson to initiate an accent duel styled like an Old West showdown, complete with cowboy hats. Storrie first performs a German accent while holding a beer, which Johnson counters with a Cajun accent. The pair agree that attempting a Jamaican accent would be inadvisable.
Storrie then delivers a Shrek impression before reverting to his Russian character to deliver the line, "When you get to hell, tell them Rozanov sent you," dramatically 'shooting' Johnson with an imaginary pistol.
The promo showcases Storrie's range as he gears up for the live show. His hosting episode of Saturday Night Live is set to broadcast on NBC on February 28 at 11:30 pm ET.
