The game will air on ABC at 7 p.m. CT, with the opponent to be named later.
The announcement came during the Dallas Cowboys' Monday Night Football matchup against the Arizona Cardinals at AT&T Stadium, where NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman revealed the venue for the 2027 Stadium Series. Dallas Stars captain Jamie Benn, along with teammates Wyatt Johnston, Jason Robertson and Tyler Seguin, were present on the sidelines to celebrate the news and enjoy the game.
The players engaged with fans and media, sharing in a social media video what football positions they might play. Benn chose quarterback, Johnston wide receiver, Seguin linebacker or running back, and Robertson initially tight end before quipping he'd be more realistic as a kick holder. They also met Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones and appeared on the stadium's big screen during the action.
This will mark the second outdoor NHL regular-season game hosted by the Stars and Texas. In the 2020 NHL Winter Classic, the Stars defeated the Nashville Predators 4-2 in front of 85,630 fans at the Cotton Bowl.
Dallas Stars owner and governor Tom Gaglardi expressed excitement, stating, “Our organization is thrilled to have the opportunity to host the 2027 Navy Federal Credit Union NHL Stadium Series at AT&T Stadium.” Cowboys owner Jerry Jones added, “Hosting the NHL Stadium Series with the Dallas Stars is another great example of the vision we’ve always had for what AT&T Stadium could be beyond football.”
The puck drop is scheduled for 8 p.m. ET on February 20, 2027, with ticketing details forthcoming. AT&T Stadium, located in Arlington, Texas, has hosted major events like Super Bowl XLV and WrestleMania.
