The Delhi High Court dismissed petitions by BSES Rajdhani Power Ltd. and BSES Yamuna Power Ltd. against a proposed audit by the Comptroller and Auditor General.
A vacation Bench led by Justice Tejas Karia ruled on Monday that the challenge by the discoms was premature. The court declined to interfere with the Delhi government proposal.
Power Minister Ashish Sood welcomed the order. He stated that the judgment had completely unmasked the failure of the previous Aam Aadmi Party government. Sood alleged definite collusion between the electricity companies and the Aam Aadmi Party.
Leader of the Opposition Atishi responded that the allegations were baseless. She noted that the previous government had ordered an audit of the discoms on the pension surcharge issue in October 2024 to ensure transparency for more than 20,000 Delhi Vidyut Board pensioners.
