Don Broco will replace Alkaline Trio as headliners at this week's 2000trees festival in Gloucestershire. The change follows the cancellation of Alkaline Trio's UK tour due to medical issues affecting frontman Matt Skiba. Organisers confirmed the switch on July 6.
Alkaline Trio had been scheduled to top the bill on Thursday July 9. Their planned dates across Birmingham, Newcastle, Leeds, London and Manchester were all pulled after the band cited worsening medical problems for Skiba in a statement.
2000trees organisers said they secured Don Broco at short notice to fill the slot. The Bedford band previously headlined the festival in 2024 and returns midway through its own Nightmare Tripping tour.
The group is set to play further UK dates in September and October as part of that tour. Organisers described the last-minute booking as a "whirlwind" effort completed from the festival site itself.
