Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Drew Allar has not signed his rookie contract. He is one of 14 unsigned draft picks across the NFL with training camp five weeks away.
Allar was selected in the third round, 11 picks after Arizona Cardinals second-rounder Carson Beck. Other unsigned players include first-round quarterbacks Fernando Mendoza of Las Vegas and Ty Simpson of Los Angeles.
The holdup appears tied to ongoing negotiations involving Beck. Allar and his representatives are monitoring that deal to determine guaranteed money levels deeper in the draft class.
The deadline for Allar to sign is July 28 when the Steelers report to camp. The Cardinals report on July 22, which could trigger a series of agreements.
Health issues for other unsigned players like McCoy and Proctor add complexity to their deals. Allar is expected to be on the field with a signed contract once practices begin.
