Dustin Poirier has lost a Bud Light sponsorship deal worth a few hundred thousand dollars following his arrest for public drunkenness at Atlanta airport. The former UFC interim lightweight champion said he is now 28 days sober.
Poirier detailed the financial impact of the incident in recent comments. He confirmed he is no longer associated with the brand as a result of the arrest.
The UFC reached out to Poirier the day after the event. Executive Hunter Campbell told him the organization had his back, saying it could not let down someone who had fought for the promotion.
Poirier has expressed a commitment to quitting alcohol. He noted he reached 28 days of sobriety since the airport incident.
