Džiugas Miškinis from Lithuania and Ellen Fildebrandt from Trelleborg won the 2026 Vansbrosimningen over three kilometers in Vanån and Västerdalälven.
Džiugas Miškinis completed the race in 29 minutes and 54 seconds and pulled ahead of the other men early on. He commented on the swim: "Since it was the first time I have no experience of this type of environment, so it was a big challenge but it is okay."
Ellen Fildebrandt won the women's class in 33 minutes and 34 seconds. It was her fourth victory in the event. She said: "It was a surprising race. My thought was to stay behind but I got off really well so all of a sudden I was in front."
The competition took place under sunny conditions with about 20 degrees in the water and low water flow. In total about 12 300 people registered for the week's races.
