Summer arrives a month early across much of metropolitan France. The Southwest is hardest hit, with local peaks of 35 °C on Friday in the Landes and around 27 °C in Paris.
On Saturday, Bordeaux and La Rochelle rank among the most exposed cities. Temperatures rise across nearly the entire country, except for milder zones along the Breton coasts and the Cotentin.
On Sunday, peaks of 37 °C are expected locally in the Landes, or 14 °C above the 1991-2020 seasonal norms, according to La Chaîne Météo. The heat is forecast to persist and even intensify next week.
