Seventeen-year-old GM Ediz Gurel captured the June 20 Bullet Brawl on Chess.com with a one-point margin after starting with 17 straight wins.
Gurel earned the $400 first prize ahead of GM Nihal Sarin, who collected $250. GM Christopher Yoo took third place for $150, while GM Hikaru Nakamura finished fourth and received $100.
Gurel's streak ended when Nakamura defeated him 7-5 in their head-to-head matches. Nakamura's longest run of the day reached only six wins, limiting his total score.
The final game between Gurel and Sarin was aborted when the arena clock expired, leaving Gurel the winner by a single point. Greek FM Anastasia Avramidou earned the $100 best women's prize after placing 18th.
The next Bullet Brawl is scheduled for June 27 at 12 p.m. ET.
