Reports indicate that the Edmonton Oilers and Dallas Stars are interested in acquiring Rickard Rakell from the Pittsburgh Penguins. The 33-year-old forward had a strong season despite injuries.
According to insider David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period, both the Oilers and Stars have expressed interest in the Swedish forward. Pittsburgh is said to be open to listening to offers for Rakell.
Rakell recorded 48 points in 60 games last season with the Penguins. He has three years remaining on his contract with a cap hit of five million dollars per season.
The player maintains a list of eight teams he would accept a trade to, though the specific clubs remain unknown. Rakell has appeared in nearly 900 NHL games and was selected for Sweden's Olympic roster earlier this year.
