The family of Rodrigo Isidro Ricárdez, the 20-year-old student killed in Tabasco in November 2025, announced it will set up a protest camp at Andrés Manuel López Obrador's La Chingada ranch in Palenque if the case sees no progress.
Lucio Isidro, the victim's father, accused state authorities of obstructing justice. He said a police commander who allegedly delivered the fatal shots remains at large and that officers altered the crime scene. Rodrigo Isidro Ricárdez studied Veterinary Medicine and Zootechnics at Universidad Juárez Autónoma de Tabasco. He died on November 14, 2025, after a chase that began when he failed to stop at a checkpoint. The Fiscalía General del Estado de Tabasco detained four state police officers nine days later. The family is also organizing a march to Mexico City to deliver letters to several government offices. “The Plan B that we have and have agreed on is that we will go to La Chingada in Palenque because the instructions come from there,” Lucio Isidro told Azucena Uresti.
