Federal justice granted habeas corpus and ordered the release of funk artists MC Poze do Rodo and MC Ryan SP on Wednesday (13). They had been held preventively since April in Operation Narco Fluxo.
Judge Louise Filgueiras of the Regional Federal Court of the 3rd Region revoked the preventive detention of the artists. The ruling argued that continued custody would be disproportionate given the delay in filing formal charges.
MC Poze do Rodo, whose real name is Marlon Brendon Coelho Couto da Silva, and MC Ryan SP, Ryan Santana dos Santos, must comply with precautionary measures. These include surrendering their passports, a ban on leaving Brazil without authorization, and monthly court appearances.
The musicians were arrested as part of Operation Narco Fluxo, which investigates an alleged money laundering scheme involving more than R$ 1.6 billion. The operation also targeted other suspects, such as businessman Henrique Alexandre Barros Viana.
