Five people were lightly injured in a head-on collision on a district road in the Cochem-Zell district.
The accident occurred late Thursday afternoon in a right-hand curve between Bruttig-Fankel and Treis-Karden. An 18-year-old driver lost control of his car, hit a guardrail and then collided with an oncoming vehicle.
The two occupants of the other car, aged 62 and 73, suffered minor injuries and were taken to a hospital. The 17-year-old passenger of the at-fault driver as well as two other youths in the same car were also lightly injured.
Two of the juveniles were transported to hospital for treatment. No further details are available on the exact condition of the 18-year-old driver and one other passenger.
