General Hospital has unveiled that the character played by Ryan Paevey, believed to be Nathan West, is actually his twin brother Cassius Faison. The revelation came during a confrontation at Wyndemere with Jenz Sidwell. Cassius has been impersonating Nathan to infiltrate the Port Charles Police Department.
Jenz Sidwell summoned the impostor to Wyndemere and addressed him as Cassius Faison, confirming his true identity. Sidwell praised Cassius for successfully fooling everyone into believing he was Nathan West. The conversation revealed that Cassius works for Sidwell and their superior, Ross Cullum, and that the impersonation was Cassius's own idea to gain access to the PCPD and key figures in Port Charles. Cassius has been employed by Sidwell for some time, aiding in schemes including framing Laura Spencer and Sonny Corinthos for Hank Dalton's murder and approving the poisoning of Maxie Jones to facilitate his takeover of Nathan's life. He also agreed that Britt Westbourne needs to be addressed over the Cold Fusion project, which Britt recognized him as not being Nathan from the start. Ryan Paevey, who portrays Cassius, stated in a recent interview that he was hired specifically for this role, planned since last year, and not as a recast of Nathan. Paevey described Cassius as having been raised by Cesar Faison in an unloving environment, unlike Nathan, and noted that the character is experiencing being liked for the first time while posing as his twin. Cassius is developing attachments to Lulu Spencer and James West, Nathan's nephew, whom he is protecting by lying about events like Rocco Falconeri shooting Cullum.
