Government places USD 470 million in new Bonar 2029 bonds

The Economy Ministry awarded the first issuance of Bonar 2029 for USD 470 million at a 7.99% rate. A second auction for USD 150 million will take place today.

The operation received bids totaling USD 985 million. The government awarded only USD 470 million despite a planned maximum of USD 2.000 million to secure a rate below 8%.

The issuance is part of the Treasury's dollar financing strategy. Funds will be deposited in the Treasury account at the Central Bank.

Finance Secretary Federico Furiase said the change responded to liquidity from USD 4.200 million in maturing bonds paid last week. The government aims for USD 6.000 million in the local market during 2026.
