Grêmio used its social media to announce the signing on Friday (Jan. 2). Caio Paulista arrives on loan from Palmeiras, valid for one year, with an option to buy. The left-back will represent the Tricolor Gaúcho in competitions throughout 2026.
Prior to joining Grêmio, Caio Paulista was loaned by Palmeiras to Atlético-MG last season, where he won the Campeonato Mineiro. Owned by Verdão, this marks the second consecutive season the player is loaned out.
In his career, the 26-year-old has played for clubs including Avaí, Fluminense, and São Paulo. His titles include the Copa do Brasil with São Paulo, Campeonato Paulista with Palmeiras, Carioca with Fluminense, and Catarinense with Avaí.
Grêmio starts its season on January 10, visiting Avenida at 9 p.m. for the first round of the Campeonato Gaúcho. Caio Paulista's arrival aims to strengthen the left-back position in the squad for upcoming challenges.
