The Miami Heat are currently viewed as the leading destination for Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo amid ongoing trade speculation. Reports indicate that Antetokounmpo could be dealt before the NBA Draft on June 23. Milwaukee ownership has set that date as a target for resolving his future.
Bucks co-owner Wes Edens stated that the team will either extend Antetokounmpo or trade him this offseason. Multiple league sources have pointed to the Heat as the team most likely to complete a deal that satisfies both Milwaukee's needs and Antetokounmpo's preferences. Sam Amick of The Athletic reported that the Heat generate the loudest trade noise. He noted that many agents and executives expect Antetokounmpo to land in Miami. A potential concern remains whether Miami can contend for a title. Other teams have been ruled out. The Oklahoma City Thunder, Cleveland Cavaliers, Minnesota Timberwolves, Houston Rockets and Boston Celtics are not expected to participate. Portland has shown interest but Antetokounmpo prefers to stay in the Eastern Conference. Resolution is expected by the Draft on June 23. The Heat's package would likely center on young talent and draft picks rather than established stars.
