Horrocks in Battle Creek to roast its own coffee

Horrocks and Company, a farm market in Battle Creek, has announced plans to begin house-roasting its own brand of coffee using newly delivered roasters. The addition could include a café-like section in its food and drink area. Shoppers expressed excitement over the potential for a local coffee option while browsing.

Horrocks and Company in Battle Creek recently revealed the contents of three large boxes delivered to the store, which turned out to be brand new coffee roasters. The farm market, known for its wide variety of foods and drinks including numerous beer selections, will soon roast its own coffee beans. This in-house roasting will allow customers to purchase the coffee brand directly from the store.

The announcement follows a social media post from the store a few days earlier, teasing the arrival of something massive. Speculation among followers included possibilities like a giant wheel of cheese or a new pizza oven. One commenter on the Facebook post noted: "It's huge! It says one of 3. Is that one of 3 pieces or one of 3 total would be the winning question. Im excited to find out!"

First-time visitors to Horrocks often express surprise at the extensive range of products available. The new coffee initiative is seen as a way to further enhance the shopping experience, particularly for coffee enthusiasts. While no specific timeline has been provided for installing the roasters or starting sales, the development has generated enthusiasm for adding a dedicated coffee area, potentially resembling a café within the existing food and drink section.

This move builds on Horrocks' reputation as a comprehensive farm market, offering diverse options that appeal to a broad customer base.
