IFL Watches has introduced the Maen Manhattan Paradox, a limited-edition watch with hand-painted dials inspired by 1920s New York geometrical art. The model builds on the popular Maen Manhattan 37 with unique, colorful artwork referencing the city's architecture, street maps, and jazz culture. Only 200 pieces are available exclusively on the IFL Watches website.
IFL Watches unveiled the Maen Manhattan Paradox, marking its third collaboration with the Swedish brand Maen on the Manhattan 37 platform. Previous projects included the Manhattan Graffiti LE and Manhattan After Dark LE, both drawing from New York graffiti. This release shifts to 1920s geometrical art, music, and architecture, with dials featuring sharp lines, chevrons, mesh, and Delaunay-inspired disks symbolizing spinning jazz records from Manhattan's basement clubs. Each dial is hand-painted by IFLW artists, ensuring subtle variations in brushwork, color, and patterns for uniqueness, in an Orphism style akin to Sonia Delaunay's canvases. The design also evokes Manhattan's street grid through straight lines, complementing the watch's angular 1970s silhouette. The base Maen Manhattan 37 features a 37mm octagonal stainless steel case, 9.3mm thickness, 47mm lug-to-lug, and a tapering 22mm bracelet with folding clasp. IFLW selected the dateless version for a clean canvas. Inside, a Top Grade Sellita SW200-1 automatic movement runs at 28,800 vph with 38-hour power reserve, regulated in five positions for ±4–15 seconds per day accuracy, visible via sapphire case back. Production is limited to 200 pieces, available starting May 4, 2026, at 16:00 CEST on the IFL Watches website for €1,499, US$1,499, or £1,290. Online reactions vary: some praise its vibrant summer appeal and value, while others find the busy dial overwhelming or prefer Maen's stock designs.
