Indonesia's U-17 national team was eliminated from the 2026 U-17 World Cup after a 1-3 defeat to Japan in their final Group B match at the AFC U-17 Asian Cup in Jeddah.
The match at Field A of the King Abdullah Sports City Training Complex on Tuesday 12 May 2026 ended with Japan taking the lead in the 28th minute through Ryoma Tsuyoneshi. Takeshi Wada extended the advantage to 2-0 in the 58th minute.
Indonesia pulled one back when Peres Tjoe scored from a free kick in the 70th minute. Two minutes later substitute Arata Okamoto made it 3-1 and the score stayed that way until the final whistle.
The result left Indonesia with three points and bottom of Group B. Japan advanced as group winners with nine points while China finished as runners-up.
