The selection process involved in-depth evaluation based on training data from october and november, as well as observations of players' performances in the super league by the coaching staff and performance team.
"Alhamdulillah the training camp process in jakarta is finished and we have selected 23 players in accordance with sea games 2025 regulations. Among these 23 players, four are playing abroad, namely marselino ferdinan, ivar jenner, mauro zijlstra, and dion markx," said indra sjafri in his statement.
Indra added that eight players were sent back to their respective clubs due to quota limits. He appreciated the role of pssi in ensuring abroad players could join, even though the tournament is not on the fifa calendar. Thanks were also extended to i.league and supporting clubs.
The garuda muda squad is in group c with the philippines, singapore, and myanmar. The opening match is scheduled for december 5 against singapore. Before departure, the team underwent four international friendlies against india and mali at stadion madya in jakarta and stadion pakansari in bogor.
The player list includes goalkeepers such as cahya supriadi (psim yogyakarta), daffa fasya (borneo fc), and muhammad ardiansyah (psm makassar), as well as midfielders like ananda raehan (psm makassar), rayhan hannan (persija jakarta), and ivar jenner (fc utrecht).
