Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Mohamed Farid said preparations for the Misr Life Insurance IPO are continuing, with the EGX listing and trading start set to complete before the end of 2026.
Mohamed Farid made the remarks at the launch of a readiness programme for provisionally listed state-owned companies on the Egyptian Exchange. The Financial Regulatory Authority initiative supports the government IPO programme by training firms on disclosure rules, corporate governance and Egyptian accounting standards.
The IPO programme, first launched in 2016, now prepares 20 state-owned companies for public offerings. Farid explained that the provisional listing framework gives companies a transitional period to finish technical and regulatory requirements before final admission.
Farid stressed the programme seeks to widen ownership and let citizens own shares in successful state firms in sectors such as insurance, extending the benefits of economic reform and deepening Egypt's capital market.
