Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps warned on Tuesday that it plans to target more than a dozen American companies across the Middle East beginning Wednesday. The list includes tech giants such as Apple, Google, Microsoft, IBM, Intel and Tesla, as well as Boeing. The IRGC cited retaliation for the killing of Iranian citizens amid the ongoing war with the US and Israel.
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps issued the warning on March 31, stating it would launch attacks on the companies in response to deaths of Iranian citizens during the conflict. The IRGC accused these firms of supporting United States military targeting efforts in the region. As first reported by WIRED, the targeted companies also include Palantir and Amazon, based on associated keywords from the announcement. The IRGC specifically named Apple, Google, IBM, Intel, Microsoft, Tesla and Boeing in its statement. In addition to the companies, the IRGC urged employees of US firms to evacuate the area and advised civilians to keep their distance from potential sites. No immediate responses from the listed companies or US officials were detailed in the warning. The threat comes amid heightened tensions in the ongoing war involving Iran, the US and Israel.
