After announcing the launch earlier this month with an exclusive New Balance collaboration, designer Joe Freshgoods has opened Every Now and Then, his first permanent retail space in Chicago's West Town neighborhood.
Joe Freshgoods officially opened the store last week following years of planning. The space serves as a flagship for his footwear and apparel while also hosting brands unavailable elsewhere in the city.
Freshgoods described the project as a gathering place rooted in personal history. “I wanted this space to represent where I’m at in life right now,” he wrote on Instagram, noting the mix of design, art, architecture, technology, food, and storytelling.
An in-house café named Josephine’s honors his grandmother and draws from summers spent in Alabama. Artwork by Jahlil Nzinga and Kayimahe Ishmael Zed lines the walls alongside collectibles that reflect his influences.
The designer told Block Club Chicago that the shop will support smaller up-and-coming creators. The address is 1843 W. Chicago Ave. in West Town.
