Jonah Hill described his rapid rise to fame after Superbad as both exciting and scary. The actor shared the story during a live taping of the Smartless podcast. He and Michael Cera couldn't walk around without fans freaking out.
The 42-year-old actor broke out with his role as high school senior Seth in 2007's Superbad alongside Michael Cera. Speaking at a Sirius XM-hosted live taping of the Smartless podcast on May 3, Jonah said: “It was psycho. [Michael and I] couldn't walk around and it was so exciting and kind of scary.” 😵💫 Fans treated them like they stepped straight off the screen into real life, making normalcy a struggle. He added: “Our lives were like that movie and people would see us and they'd freak out because it's like we walked off the screen into the world.” They stuck to routines like daily deli walks to stay grounded, but Jonah admitted: “It's impossible not to become a weird person.” Spill the tea: fame's a double-edged sword! 👀
