Kast urges Chile Vamos mayors to intensify territorial campaign

José Antonio Kast, presidential candidate of the Republican Party, met with regional governors and over 50 Chile Vamos mayors to coordinate his territorial deployment ahead of the runoff. In the meeting with local leaders, he urged them to 'hit the streets' to secure his win. He also appointed links with coalition parties to streamline coordination.

On Wednesday, José Antonio Kast held two key meetings to outline his territorial strategy ahead of the presidential runoff. In the morning, he met with sector regional governors, including Sergio Giacaman (Biobío), Pedro Álvarez-Salamanca (Maule), and Diego Paco (Arica). Later, he joined an encounter with over 50 mayors from Chile Vamos and Republicans, stressing the need for joint effort.

In the meeting with local leaders, Kast delivered a direct message: “Para que yo gane, ustedes tienen que dejar los pies en la calle” (For me to win, you have to hit the streets). This alignment with the center-right coalition is progressing faster than in 2021, moving from directorial and programmatic coordinations to operational deployment.

Previously, Kast's economic team, led by Jorge Quiroz, met with economists who backed Evelyn Matthei, with security meetings planned. Juan Luis Ossa, Matthei's former programmatic head, has already held two meetings with Kast's counterpart, Carmen Soza.

After the governors' activity, the Republican command announced campaign links: elected deputies Luis Pardo (RN), Eduardo Cretton (UDI), Hans Marowski (National Libertarian Party), and Partido Social Cristiano general secretary Judith Marín. They will coordinate with new campaign chief Martín Arrau, focusing on territorial rollout.

There are three weeks and a bit left until election day, and that's what presses us (...). Today we are all behind José Antonio Kast's candidacy and coordination is essential. This shows what has happened in these days and we are advancing step by step).

In the UDI, Guillermo Ramírez praised Cretton for his campaign experience. However, RN saw internal dissent over Pardo, with criticisms labeling him a “príncipe” (prince) and questioning the need for Chile Vamos figures.
