Kirsten Storms is taking an extended break from her role as Maxie Jones on General Hospital due to personal health and family matters. The soap is also recasting Serena Baldwin with actress Kelly Krueger. Additional casting changes include exits and new arrivals set for summer air dates.
Kirsten Storms has appeared in only 10 episodes of General Hospital this year and was last seen on screen March 13. She cited a brain aneurysm diagnosis and a cross-country move to Nashville with her daughter as reasons for stepping away. In a statement Storms said she could not say she would feel comfortable heading back to Los Angeles and returning to work. Kelly Krueger began taping scenes as Serena Baldwin on June 8 and is scheduled to debut during July sweeps. The character is the daughter of Scott Baldwin and the late Dominique Stanton with ties to Lucy Coe. Other updates include Marc Forget exiting as Pascal Leveque and Kate Mansi potentially leaving as Kristina Corinthos-Davis with an air date of June 12. Jason Morgan returns to filming after a break while new characters including Tristan Roberts played by Dean Geyer arrive in July.
