The parents of Love Island USA contestant Kenzie Annis have spoken out in her defense amid criticism of her romantic decisions on the reality series. Tim and Christy Annis told TMZ that their daughter is a one-guy kind of person. They expressed support for her connection with fellow contestant Dylan.
Tim and Christy Annis said the show's portrayal does not match the daughter they raised. "She's a one guy kind of girl, that's all she's ever been," they stated.
The parents addressed Kenzie's pairings with Zach, Corbin, Caleb, and later Dylan and Gal. They noted that her exploration of connections with Dylan and Gal occurred without outside pressure and that no exclusivity agreement existed with Dylan.
Tim Annis added that Kenzie aims to follow the show's expectations. He said, "I feel for Kenzie -- she thinks she's being open and doing everything the show is asking her to do, and doesn't understand why she's being judged negatively." The couple hopes their daughter ends up with Dylan and looks forward to meeting him in Georgia.
One week remains in the current season of Love Island USA. Kenzie and Dylan avoided elimination Sunday night.
