Emmanuel Macron spoke Thursday evening on France 2 about the agreement signed the previous day between Iran and the United States, along with other international issues.
The president stated that the agreement had been signed spontaneously on Wednesday evening in Versailles during a dinner with Donald Trump. He indicated that France would provide technical help to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and called for vigilance amid the heatwave.
On Ukraine, Macron noted a shift in Trump’s stance at the G7, saying the US president had seen that Russia was not keeping its commitments. He also affirmed that Germany, the United Kingdom and France remained essential for upcoming nuclear negotiations with Iran.
Regarding the Lyhanna case, the head of state acknowledged that some things had not been handled properly and announced that an inspection report would be delivered on June 22. He also praised France’s progress in Artificial Intelligence, calling the country Europe’s champion.
