Domenico Paviglianiti, one of the top bosses of the 'Ndrangheta, was arrested Friday in Soria following a police operation.
National Police detained the Italian mobster, aged about 65, as he left a restaurant in Soria. The arrest resulted from collaboration with the Guardia di Finanza of Reggio Calabria and phone taps.
Paviglianiti, seen as one of the top figures in Calabrian organized crime, faces a European Arrest Warrant for drug trafficking, crimes against persons and money laundering. He is linked to nearly 130 murders.
This marks his second arrest in Spain. He was previously detained in Madrid in 2021. The operation is part of Interpol’s I-CAN project involving 24 countries.
