A magnitude 6.6 earthquake struck Davao Occidental on Friday evening, with its epicenter located 90 kilometers south of Balut Island.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology reported that the quake occurred at 7:34 pm on June 26. It had a depth of 10 kilometers.
Intensity V was felt in Kiamba, Sarangani, and Malapatan, Sarangani. Lower intensities were recorded across parts of Davao Occidental, Davao del Sur, South Cotabato, and other nearby provinces.
The agency stated that no aftershocks or damage are expected from the event. Several affected areas had also experienced the magnitude 7.8 Mindanao earthquake on June 8.
