A Washington state man faces multiple charges after police say he tried to drown his sister in the family pool during an argument over vacuum noise.
Brandon Michael Holland, 36, is accused of second-degree attempted murder, burglary, two counts of assault and two counts of violating a court order. The incident took place on the night of June 5 at the family home on 4th Avenue NW in Puyallup.
According to court documents, the confrontation began around 7 p.m. when Holland became upset by his sister vacuuming. He allegedly chased her outside, told his mother he would kill her, and tried to hold her underwater in the pool for 10 to 20 seconds before their father intervened.
Holland then pursued his sister to a neighbor's house while shouting threats. When officers arrived, Puyallup Police Officer Zion Gregory shot Holland twice after he charged with a metal baton. Holland appeared in Pierce County Superior Court on Monday and remains in critical but stable condition.
