A man in his mid-30s has died in a single-vehicle crash on road 99 between Haparanda and Övertorneå.
The car left the road for unknown reasons during the night towards Wednesday. The vehicle has been seized by police who will investigate the crash.
– The man was deceased when the accident was discovered by a passing motorist, says Åsa Mjörndal, police press spokesperson.
The alarm about the single-vehicle crash came at 03.50 but it is unclear when the accident occurred. Relatives of the deceased have been notified.
