A guest on the M6 show «Appel à témoins» calling himself «père Marc» said the fugitive wanted for a quintuple murder stayed at his monastery in Aude in 2022 and confessed the crimes to him.
The show aired on June 2, 2026 presented the testimony as a surprise for the panel. «Père Marc» claimed to recognize Xavier Dupont de Ligonnès «100%» and described the man as «very ill at ease» and «in a depressive state».
According to him, the visitor stayed four days at the monastery before leaving for a village near Grasse in the Alpes-Maritimes. He added that he holds a photo and a phone number of the fugitive but did not present them on air.
The witness explained he decided to speak after discussing it with the bishop of Carcassonne. He stressed that the Church must now denounce all facts, including rapes in parishes.
The Xavier Dupont de Ligonnès case, wanted since 2011 for the murder of his wife and four children in Nantes, continues to generate regular unverified reports.
