Manchester City defeated Brentford 3-0 at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday to reduce Arsenal’s lead in the Premier League title race to two points. Jeremy Doku, Erling Haaland and Omar Marmoush scored the goals. Pep Guardiola urged West Ham to help his side by beating the Gunners on Sunday.
Manchester City laboured through much of the match but found a breakthrough on the hour mark when Doku curled in from the left after a short corner. Haaland added a second 15 minutes later, bundling the ball over the line after a cut-back from Antoine Semenyo. Marmoush completed the scoring in stoppage time with a low finish assisted by Haaland.
