Country music artist Maren Morris is scheduled to appear in the second-to-last episode of Sheriff Country's debut season. TVLine exclusively revealed that she will play Hazel, the sponsor of Skye, Sheriff Mickey's daughter who is recovering from drug addiction and was a suspect in her boyfriend's murder earlier this season. The episode is set to air on May 15 at 8/7c on CBS, ahead of the freshman finale. During the hour, Morris' original song 'Parachute' will be featured, which she wrote for the series. Elsewhere, the plot involves Sheriff Mickey Fox aiding a federal investigation into interstate crime and local land deals, according to the official logline. Max Thieriot, co-creator and star of the Fire Country/Sheriff Country franchise, praised the casting. 'We've always loved bringing authentic voices from the music community into Fire Country, and that continues with Sheriff Country,' Thieriot said. He added, 'Maren is such a powerful storyteller and having her join us felt like a natural extension of that legacy. She brings a real emotional truth and presence that fits seamlessly into this world, and we can't wait for audiences to see what she does.' The franchise has previously featured musicians like Kane Brown and Jelly Roll in guest roles on Fire Country.
