Miramar Police Sgt. Devarious Holloway, 32, faces misdemeanor battery and criminal mischief charges after allegedly assaulting his girlfriend in Miami on Friday.
The incident occurred around 7 p.m. at the victim's home in the 700 block of NW 100th Street. According to the complaint, Holloway texted the victim to come outside, then questioned their relationship status before grabbing her, punching her in the mouth and kicking her leg.
Holloway allegedly threw her phone, damaged a door and struck her in the chest before leaving. The victim reported the matter to the Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office.
Holloway turned himself in on Monday and has since bonded out. His next court date is set for Aug. 26.
The Miramar Police Department placed him on administrative leave pending an internal review.
