Nike has added to its 2026 Moon Shoe revival series with an affordable new iteration of its oldest sneaker, originally from the 1972 Olympic Trials. Retaining the iconic waffle outsole and simple retro style, it's available now on the Nike website for $95.
This updated Moon Shoe features a lightweight nylon upper, suede paneling, large leather Swooshes wrapping to the back, a crinkled eyestay for texture, and a curved heel tab. It closely recreates the 1972 original after 54 years, positioning it as an accessible entry to the icon's legacy amid other recent colorway releases. The shoe draws its name from the thin waffle outsole, famously crafted using a waffle iron, which leaves distinctive crater-like footprints. Nike has not commented specifically, but it's purchasable directly from their site.
