The Financial Regulatory Authority announced that the volume of non-banking financial activities, including capital market operations and all forms of non-banking finance, reached EGP 954.2 billion from January to September 2025. The total includes EGP 497.5 billion in share issuances and EGP 70.3 billion in issuances of securities other than shares. Movable-asset registrations in the Collateral Registry hit EGP 3.9 trillion by the end of September.
In a report issued on Wednesday, the Financial Regulatory Authority detailed the main components of this total volume. It includes EGP 122.2 billion in leasing contracts, EGP 76.9 billion in financing provided to micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), EGP 66 billion in consumer finance, EGP 91.4 billion in factored receivables, and EGP 29.4 billion in mortgage finance.
Additionally, outstanding MSME financing reached EGP 92 billion. In the insurance sector, total premiums collected amounted to EGP 87.5 billion, with payouts totaling EGP 46.8 billion. Private insurance funds invested EGP 22.9 billion.
According to the authority, the EGP 87.5 billion in premiums included EGP 49.1 billion from property and liability insurance and EGP 38.4 billion from life insurance and fund-formation products. Total payouts of EGP 46.8 billion comprised EGP 22.4 billion in compensation under property and liability insurance and EGP 24.4 billion for life insurance and fund-formation products.
Property and liability insurance covers risks such as fire, theft, home and car insurance, as well as warehouse and goods coverage. Life and fund-formation insurance includes life coverage, death benefits, and policies against bodily injury, among other products. This report highlights growth in the non-banking sector, supporting Egypt's economy by facilitating financing for small businesses and individuals.
