Mexico State recorded the lowest number of intentional homicide victims in November 2025 since 2017, according to the State of Mexico General Prosecutor's Office. This decline is part of a sustained downward trend throughout the year, credited to strategies from the Peace Table led by Governor Delfina Gómez Álvarez. Monthly reductions have ranged from 25 to 45 percent compared to 2024.
During the 225th session of the Peace Table, held in Nezahualcóyotl, the State of Mexico General Prosecutor's Office (FGJEM) presented data confirming the significant reduction in intentional homicides. November 2025 stands out as the month with the lowest incidence of this crime since 2017, marking the lowest point in a continuous decline observed from January to November.
Governor Delfina Gómez Álvarez stated on her social media: “En #Nezahualcóyotl encabecé la Mesa de Paz en la cual la Fiscalía General de Justicia del Estado de México reportó que este noviembre fue el mes con menor incidencia de homicidio doloso que se tiene registrado. Seguimos sumando esfuerzos por la paz y tranquilidad de las y los mexiquenses. #ElPoderDeServir”.
This trend results from coordinated efforts among the three levels of government, which have implemented security operations, programs, equipment and training for police, increased use of technology, promotion of citizen reporting, victim support, and case follow-up. Consequently, the annual total of intentional homicides in 2025 is the lowest since 2017, with an approximate daily average of 50 percent less than previous periods, preventing significant rebounds.
