Occult Hand Order, a French psychedelic doom trio, announced their new album, Meaningless Monuments, on March 8th, 2026. The album is scheduled for release on April 17th through Totem Cat Records. Pre-orders for the record opened on March 9th.
The album delves into themes of apocalypse, inner collapse, and the search for meaning. It features long, hypnotic structures that combine massive doom riffs with ritualistic, atmospheric passages. The track list includes four songs: Bledow, Mollerussa, Novo Mesto, and Gerlach.
Accompanying the announcement, Occult Hand Order released the album's first single, Novo Mesto, with an eerie and mystique-laden official video. The band described the track as follows: “Novo Mesto acts as a catharsis. The song evokes purification through hardship, pain washed away by time and the elements, and the idea that destruction and rebirth are intimately linked. Between fatalism and acceptance, it questions what remains after chaos, and how experience transforms those who go through it. Fire and rain become symbolic forces, both destructive and regenerative.”
This release builds on the band's established sound in the psychedelic doom genre, offering listeners a deeper exploration of introspective and cataclysmic ideas.
