Olivia Wilde got real on the Call Her Daddy podcast about why she dipped out of the spotlight. The 42-year-old called the post-split chaos a tornado she had to escape. She also spilled on that wild 2022 CinemaCon moment and Tom Cruise's reaction.
Olivia described the decision as totally intentional. She needed to get quiet after her split from Jason Sudeikis and the whirlwind with Harry Styles. The actress said she was suddenly in a tornado and chose to excuse herself to process the pain and lessons.
She credited therapy with helping her rebuild. Olivia noted she is a very different person than three years ago and called rock bottom a place to jump off from. Directing remains her liberating escape, she added.
On the infamous CinemaCon stage serve in April 2022, Wilde recalled Tom Cruise later telling her it was f***** up. She said Jason has told her he did not know it would happen that way. A spokesperson for Sudeikis confirmed he had no prior knowledge and would never condone such a delivery.
