A 22-year-old Orioles fan caught two balls in play during a game against the Blue Jays at Camden Yards on Thursday night. Avery Jacobsen secured a home run ball in the fourth inning and a ground-rule double in the fifth before giving the second ball to a child seated behind him.
Jacobsen, from Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, and a recent Loyola University Maryland graduate, was seated in the first row of Section 94 in right-center field. He caught Coby Mayo’s solo home run with two outs in the fourth inning during the Orioles’ 2-1 loss, which tied the score at 1-1. An inning later, he caught Blaze Alexander’s ground-rule double after it bounced over the wall.
