Paralives early access release delayed to May 2026

The upcoming life simulator Paralives has been delayed from its planned December early access launch. Developer Alex Massie announced the postponement in a Steam post, citing the need for additional polishing after recent playtests revealed bugs and limited activities. The new release date is set for May 25, 2026, on Steam.

Announcement Details

In a Steam post dated around November 17, 2025, lead developer Alex Massie shared the decision to delay Paralives' early access release. Originally scheduled for December 18, the game will now launch on May 25, 2026. The move follows playtests that highlighted impactful bugs and a lack of activities impacting player enjoyment.

Massie explained the development challenges: "Over the last 6 years of development, starting with 2-3 developers for the first years, to growing to an average team size of only 10 people, we had to alternate long stretches of development between these three parts of the game. We are so proud of what we have built, but now, we just need a bit more time to polish the simulation part of the game."

Development Context

Paralives, a life simulation game often compared to titles like The Sims, has been in development for six years with a small indie team. The delay allows focus on refining the core simulation elements. The team has updated its roadmap to reflect the changes, providing players with insights into future progress.

Upcoming Showcase

To give fans a glimpse of the current build, the developers will host a stream on November 25, 2025, at 5:00 PM GMT on their YouTube channel. The 45-minute session will feature uninterrupted live mode gameplay, demonstrating available features.

Players can wishlist Paralives on Steam to stay updated on the revised timeline.
