The People's Democratic Party launched a nationwide drive on Thursday to mobilise youth and women, with plans to secure at least 10 million votes in future elections.
The People's Democratic Party inaugurated the National Youth Leadership Consultative Forum for the Survival of Democracy in Nigeria and the PDP Female Youth Wing in Abuja.
Senator Samuel Anyanwu, the PDP National Secretary, addressed the gathering and called on young women to take active roles in politics. He urged participants to focus on results rather than social events and outlined plans to reach at least 5,000 female youths in every state over the next three months.
Anyanwu encouraged the use of digital platforms including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and WhatsApp for mobilisation. He also dismissed reports of internal divisions and stated that the party remains united under its recognised leadership.
In a separate statement, PDP National Youth Leader Amb. Ibrahim Bala-Aboki said the new structures form part of a strategy expected to generate a voter support base of not less than 10 million votes nationwide.
