Police launch Trygga hem – utan våld in Dalarna

Operational work on the new method Trygga hem – utan våld has now begun in Dalarna. The aim is to prevent and stop violence in close relationships earlier and more effectively through collaboration among several actors. Zandra Runo, head of administration for Police Area Dalarna, stresses that violence is not a private matter.

Operational work on Trygga hem – utan våld has now started in Dalarna. The method aims to identify families living with violence or threats of violence and provide help and support to both victims and perpetrators. If the violence does not stop, sanctions are imposed on the perpetrator while support is offered to change their behavior.

Police are collaborating with the County Administrative Board of Dalarna, the Swedish Prison and Probation Service, and the municipalities of Falun and Avesta. Discussions are ongoing with Region Dalarna to include healthcare at both strategic and operational levels. Sharing information creates a common situational picture to implement the right measures at the right time.

"Violence is not a private matter, not something that should be hidden behind closed doors," says Zandra Runo, head of administration for Police Area Dalarna. County Governor Helena Höij adds: "Together we want to stop and prevent violence in close relationships!"

The method aims to prevent violence, relapses, escalation to more serious crimes, and reduce the dark figure of crime. It contributes to the regional strategy 'A Dalarna free from violence'.
