A girl in her mid-teens died after being hit by a car at a crosswalk in the Södervärn district of Malmö on Friday. Police urge the public not to share videos of the accident.
The accident occurred around 15:30 on Friday. Witnesses said the car was traveling at high speed when it struck the girl at the crosswalk. She was taken to hospital but died later that afternoon.
Police have arrested a man in his 40s suspected of gross causing the death of another person. A report of unlawful breach of integrity has been filed in connection with videos of the accident spreading on social media.
Police spokesperson Patrik Fors says the spread is extremely violating for the deceased girl and her parents. He also warns that the videos may cause discomfort and fear among younger viewers.
